Sometimes

Life is often like a chess game against a worthy opponent. Sometimes the only move is a bad one, one where you will lose, maybe a lot. But these are the moments that define what kind of player you are:

Sometimes

Sometimes
We are all out of options—
The only choice is a bad one, or
The only way forward is a sad one.

Sometimes
Death needs to happen—
If life is to rise above the ashes,
From dust and dirt, renewed.

Sometimes
The only choice to see the truth
Is through a wall of rage,
A cage that stalls your hope for life.

Sometimes
There are no better days.
The grass is greener inside, they say,
But sometimes, fields die.
