Balance
For every good day, there is one bad. Or two. The most important lesson in life is understanding the delicate balance between positivity and adversity. Yin and Yang, light and dark, good and evil. We live in a world of ups and downs and constant polarization. Where there is love, there must be indifference, and these days I have felt an overwhelming amount of the latter. I have had wonderful experiences here in Torino, but today had to be one of those days that I will learn from and take with me moving forward. Sometimes I wonder if there is any way to respond well to difficult situations, or if removing yourself entirely is the best bet. If I should face the storm or lock myself inside and stick to what I know best. Maybe it is not for me to determine, now or ever.
Balance
With every ray of sun
Peeking through the shutters,
Waking up the day
With the joyous sentiment of lovers,
There has to be a darkest corner
One to which the sun won't reach.
What is most important to teach
Is not to seek entirely light,
Nor wish for constant peace,
But live and learn in life and death
In yin and yang we face our beasts
At paces only we define.
Two steps forward, one step back;
With every good time,
There is sadness between the lines.
With every smile,
There is a frown,
Some of which you cannot fight.
