Day 30

What is a Name?

What is this life, what are our thoughts?
My time has been spent deciding this lot,
For humans are curious, we act so gravely
With soaring meanings for life, mainly
A mission to change the world, experience love,
Achieving dreams and chasing doves—
But in truth, the core of a whole mad dance
Is ego, identity, branded by man.

Thoughts were not divine intervention,
Our consciousness is shaped by mortal intentions
Not God, not morals, but cultural norms have
Bred the basis from which we are formed.

What is a name, personality and all?
Why are we fearful of deaths last call?
What really ties us to these bodies?
Are we unique or are we just copies?

Whether you believe, or not, in God,
I speak not to one nor the other mob,
But to the thinker, the man of reason
The woman who learns and grows with her seasons,
For you, whatever you think you means
Are here to accomplish just one thing—
Improve this planet, further our race
Or our own destruction is all you will bring.
